K-Laser is a Class IV therapeutic laser that uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light — called photobiomodulation — to support the body’s healing. Flagler Chiropractic is at 1240 S. Oceanshore Blvd., Flagler Beach, FL — call (386) 439-9001.
How laser therapy works
Light energy is absorbed by cells in the treated tissue, which is thought to boost cellular energy production and circulation. The goal is faster tissue repair, less inflammation and less pain. Laser therapy has been used in Europe since the 1970s and received FDA clearance in the United States in 2002.
Four widely accepted benefits
- Biostimulation and tissue regeneration
- Reduction of inflammation
- Pain reduction — acute or chronic
- Antibacterial and antiviral effects
What a session feels like
Most patients feel little or nothing — sometimes a mild, soothing warmth or tingling. A typical treatment takes 3 to 9 minutes depending on the area.
How many treatments?
Some acute problems respond in 1–6 treatments; chronic conditions may need 10–15 or more. Acute issues can be treated more often at first; chronic issues typically 2–3 times a week, tapering as you improve. Results are cumulative and are often felt after 3 or 4 sessions.
Pairs well with chiropractic
Laser therapy is frequently combined with adjustments, soft-tissue work and rehab to improve results. Read the full K-Laser page or call (386) 439-9001.
