Chiropractor Shares Morocco Trip News
by Correspondent Sam Newton

The Flagler Beach Rotary Club heard one of its own members speak about a humanitarian trip to Morocco he had taken with a group of chiropractors.

Flagler Beach chiropractor Dr. Sidi Lemnouni shared the highlights of the trip, the third in recent months.

Dr. Lemnouni cited the first trip, which encountered many roadblocks, such as resistance by the medical profession to accept chiropractic services and the relegation of the visiting group to practicing in the desert.

The most recent trip showed progress and acceptance, he said.

The minister of health of Morocco also proved to be helpful.

The visiting chiropractors worked in villages, operating from a central base and within a week were able to see more than 4,000 patients.

Physicians and nurses, aided by 30 Arabic and French translators, worked side by side with the chiropractors who handled patients who had lined up hours prior to the opening of the clinics. Dr. Lemnouni mentioned his work in Morocco had led to an invitation to participate in a research project working with doctors and nurses.

He also showed newspaper pages praising a Rotary project that brought wheelchairs to Costa Rica, where he will be heading soon on another humanitarian mission.

Dr. Lemnouni displayed some artifacts he had brought from Morocco and sported a shirt bearing the flags of the United States and Morocco while he was speaking.
